Many female entrepreneurs are kept awake at night thinking about their financial concerns and the varying stresses related to their business, according to a recent study conducted by The American College.
The study found 15 percent of respondents are very stressed out by their business, and that they worry about almost every aspect of their enterprise. These women said they do not feel that have a good work/life balance, and they rarely have free time to relax with their friends.
"Engaging a competent and trustworthy financial professional (and/or team) can provide tremendous benefits, as indicated in this and other studies," said Mary Quist-Newins, director of the State Farm Center for Women and Financial Services at The American College. "With sound financial planning, more women business owners can begin 'sleeping soundly' instead of 'tossing and turning' all night long."
A finance degree could be important for many women business owners who want to be in control of the finances of their businesses.
With more women in powerful positions in the business world, research from the National Women's Business Council found women obtaining patents is growing at an accelerating rate.
The research found a 35 percent increase in patents granted to women from 2009 to 2010, which was the largest figure in recent decades.
