Tips to maximize email marketing

Many business degree programs are teaching students the power of email marketing. Helping future marketers maximize their email marketing initiatives is Entrepreneur magazine, which recently shared some tips on the marketing strategy.

The magazine advocated split testing, which involves mixing up variables on email messages to see which are most effective. For example, marketers can send out emails about a product launch using two different subject lines, to see which subject generates more interest from recipients.

Another thing email marketers can do to improve their return on investment is to survey their customers, reported the magazine. Setting up a survey and asking customers for feedback can provide all types of information, with things such as demographics of a consumer base and popularity of certain features becoming visible.

Email messages should also not necessarily try too explicitly to sell a product, but should include information that is useful to potential customers, said the magazine. Recipients of the emails will remember where they got their useful information and check out a a brand when the time strikes.

Valentine's Day and other holidays are opportunities for email marketers to reach out to their client list, according to Elite Email.

"Email marketing software empowers organizations of all sizes to send out timely and relevant emails," said Robert Burko, CEO of Elite Email. "Unlike traditional print media that has large lead times and expensive design fees, a business can launch a Valentine’s Day email marketing campaign with just a few clicks of the mouse."
