The recent Charity Dynamics' 2012 Digital Marketing Survey found nonprofits are turning to mobile marketing and social media to drive their fundraising ventures in 2012.
"Our Digital Marketing Survey provides a helpful snapshot from a cross-section of nonprofit organizations about some of the main concerns, priorities and goals that are top of mind for nonprofit professionals as we continue moving forward into 2012," said Donna Wilkins, president of Charity Dynamics.
According to the survey, 73 percent of respondents claimed their organization will begin a social media initiative in 2012, which is up from the 51 percent figure in the previous year's study. Fifty-one percent of non-mobile users will increase their mobile strategy in the new year, due to its ability to improve fundraising opportunities.
These strategies are important for marketing degree-seeking students to understand as they will be responsible for marketing strategies for their future employers.
Mobile applications are one of the main reasons companies switch to a more aggressive mobile marketing strategy. An article found on UTalkMarketing.com shared some tips on how to market those mobile apps.
A few tips provided by the website include making sure an app is ready for the market, striving to make an app the best it can be and knowing who the potential customers are.
