A recent Small Business Opinion Poll, conducted by the company Employers, outlined how small businesses in the United States are utilizing tool such as mobile email, business applications and social media to improve their marketing strategies.
Results from the survey found 38 percent of executives at small businesses use smartphones or tablets to improve efficiency in the workplace, while 41 percent of small businesses would use business applications for mobile banking, customer relationship management, risk management, payroll management and insurance policy management.
Of the small businesses that use smart phone or tablets daily, 93 percent use them for mobile email, 41 percent use them to access social networking sites such as Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn.
Social media has been found to be a part of new businesses infrastructure, with 52 percent on businesses under 10 years old using social media.
Business degree programs that include some of the new technology such as tablets, smartphones and social media can arm recent college graduates with the skills they need to succeed in the changing business world.
A recent study conducted by Webtorials has found more small businesses plan to make cloud computing a larger part of their infrastructure as well in the upcoming year, with 14 percent more companies planning to use the cloud this year.
