Technology has made digital marketing strategies even more important for businesses and has piqued the interests of C-level executives and line-of-business leaders, many of whom are interested in digital marketing because of its potential to increase marketing performance and return on their investment.

A recent survey from the Chief Marketing Officer Council found just 9 percent of global marketers say their companies fully embrace the new technologies, though 63 percent of executives say they are interested in the possible benefits of digital marketing. the survey also found businesses are lacking the professionals to deploy these marketing strategies.

"Marketers have more advanced technologies, data, and analytical tools at their disposal than at any other point," said Jacques van Niekerk, CEO of Acceleration. "However, the capabilities and skills required to embrace this new digital dynamism in order to provide insight and sustainable business benefits are in short supply."

While marketing degree students need to understand the need for digital marketers in the United States, there is another solution businesses can turn to improve their web campaigns.
