As many companies strive to diversify their workforce, more recruiting opportunities may arise for master of business administration degree (MBA) students.
For example, from June 26 through 29, The Consortium for Graduate Study in Management will host the 45th Annual Orientation Program and Career Forum in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
The Consortium is an alliance of 70 major U.S. companies and 17 American business schools that advocates for diversity in the nation's professional organizations. Among the group's corporate partners is the Target Corporation, which will also serve as the forum's lead sponsor.
"Diversity is not a minority problem; it is an American opportunity," said Peter Aranda, the Consortium's chief executive officer. "The Consortium is proud to partner with so many major corporations and leading business schools who share this deeply held belief."
In attendance at this year's gathering will be 340 newly admitted Consortium students, who are also enrolled in advanced business degree programs at the alliance's 17 member schools.
The event is mutually beneficial to both MBAs and partner companies. Representatives from the businesses in attendance have early access to prospective employees, while the students gain a recruiting advantage.
