Students at the University of Indiana were recently able to take part in a networking event on campus, which allowed them to connect with members of the school's Scott College of Business Young Professionals Board.
This opportunity allowed those seeking a
business degree to discuss some of the ins and outs of their prospective careers with young professionals who are just starting out on their paths to success in the business world.
"I think it's important that I come back and give the students the same opportunities that I had to help them prepare, so we can have a better business world as a whole," said April Huey, senior financial analyst at Indiana University Health.
Many of the members of the panel said that networking opportunities are becoming increasingly important for students ready to exit college and enter the working world.
Another recent networking opportunity was set up in Dallas by Speed MINGLE, which is a company that connects young professionals with prospective employers, reported Dallas/Fort Worth CW affiliate KDAF.
The news source said that at the recent event, jobseekers were given a 30-second opportunity to sell themselves to potential employers. Students pursuing online business degrees might benefit from seeking out networking opportunities like the one offered by Speed MINGLE.
